It´s our last week of genius hour, that means I´m pushing hard this week. Monday - Wednesday I went for distance runs without timing them. Then Thursday- Sunday I went for a run everyday tracking my time to score the best one by the end of this week. This week I was able to get my average mile time to be seven minutes and twenty seconds. All though I didn't meet my goal, I still had a great time doing this assignment and being able to find my passion for running again. Hopefully I will continue to enjoy running and beat my goal soon!

Its partner pacing week, our last week for partner pacing too. For this final partner pacing week I decided to run with my sister Maddie. Maddie and I went to our moms work, Davidsion Davie hospital to run around the parking lot area. We enjoy coming to this spot to run because it´s right up the road from our house, and sometimes our mom will come out to meet us to ask about how our run was. We ran 2 miles, then did some sprinting work.
It´s week 10 which means I only have two more weeks to work hard on achieving one of my goals. My last time running tracking my mileage time I was able to run in eight minutes and twenty seconds. This week I was able to improve my time by 20 seconds. When I finished my run and noticed I decreased my time I was so excited. I have been struggling lately trying to manage my time to be able to fit in more time for running, but for the time I have been able to run I think my mileage time has been able to improve majorly.
Its partner pacing week and this week I´ll be doing partner pacing week alone. I decided to do this week alone to focus more towards my goal. My main goal for genius hour was to gain my love for running back, which I have majorly, but I also set myself a self goal to make it more challenging and interesting. So far I haven´t been able to reach that self goal yet, but I still have three more weeks to work my way at least closer to my extra goal. This week I ran every day for at least two hours, during that time span I wasn´t just running, I was working on different skills like my speed, breathing, stretching, hydrating, and distance.
weather throughout the week: warm but cloudy For the past couple of weeks, while doing my genius hour, I have also been going to the gym. While I´ve been spending a good excessive amount of time at the gym, I came up with the idea of how to kill two birds with one stone. I made a plan to be able to fit my workout in while also being able to run for genius hours and not be overly worked. Before starting my workouts I enjoy walking on the treadmill for at least 20 minutes to get my blood flowing, but instead at this most recent gym visit, I decided to take that 20 minutes and use it to run for a genius hour. So for genius hour this week, I was able to improve my average mileage time by 30 seconds, which I think is still a great improvement. I'm excited about next week's run and where I decided to run at.
* mileage time: 8:20 This week for the Partner pacing week I ran alone. My usual running partners weren't having the best week and decided they didn't want to run with me this week. So I decided I wasn't going to change up the weeks, but instead just run alone at my own free pace. For this week´s run I ran a total of three miles, I started my weekly run off on Monday and ran one mile, then finished my weeks run off on Friday and ran two more miles. Since I didn´t have a partner this week I wanted to push myself harder on my distance running to help practice keeping control on my breathing.
* mileage distance: 3 miles * weather: sunny but chilly * mood: felt like a fresh start This week I really didn't want to run, I had so much school work to do and had gotten very overwhelmed. So this week I wasn't able to improve my mile time which is okay. With this week finally being over I'm ready for the next one to begin to work harder on my goals. This run my time was 9 minutes and 5 seconds, which isn´t bad, but isn´t improving and what I´m wanting is an improvement.
* week mile time: 9:05 * weather: sunny * weight: 93lb *mood: overwhelmed This week was a partner pacing week, our favorite week. Our guest this week for partner pacing was my sister Maddie. Maddie and I wanted to change up the scenery and go run around the Wake Forest Bapist hospital parking lot area where our mom works. We decided to start our run just before sunset to be able to enjoy and watch the sunset during our run. After our run, we met our mom up at her car and went out for ice cream!
* weather: warm with a breeze * mile: one and half * mood: Great run This week I was able to improve my average mile time by 40 seconds, this would be my 2nd run from a year ago tracking my time. During this week´s run I was able to increase my speed by not putting all my focus on the people who were in my surroundings. By doing this I felt less worried about what people were thinking of me and more focused on my breathing. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to take a picture of my watch, but I wrote my mile average down after my run.
* week mile average time: 8:50 * weather: sunny but cold * weight: 97lb * mood: didn't want to run today This week I will be starting " Partner pacing days ", Partner pacing days will be days when I go running with a partner for as long as we want. During that time we'll be documenting our run by using a go pro and my apple watch. For Partner pacing days we will be tracking a start and finish time. This week my Pacing partner will be my mom Wendy. We started our run today at 3:00 pm, for this run, we decided to run through the neighborhoods that are surrounding ours. Our run come to an end round 3:30 pm, we ran one mile during this partner pacing run.
* weather: cloudy |
